A special visit to Condor
The anniversary trip began with a visit to our Dutch friends at Condor. Our team received a warm welcome and were given a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour of the company’s production site.
For several of our colleagues, the visit also meant being reunited with machines and installations they had helped develop and build. Seeing these projects operating in their intended production environment was both rewarding and inspiring—and a wonderful reminder of what we have achieved together over the years.
The visit concluded with a traditional Dutch broodje kroket lunch and a thoughtful gift from Condor for everyone: a Condor doormat to take home.
We would like to thank the entire Condor team once again for their warm hospitality and for making this visit such a memorable part of our anniversary celebrations.
Boat rides and celebrations
The team continued to Giethoorn for a boat trip through the village’s picturesque canals. That evening, we celebrated 70 years of Matthys Group with a festive dinner and anniversary cake. The cake was ceremoniously cut by pater familias Wim Matthys, assisted by the next generation of the Matthys family—a fitting moment that brought the company’s history and future together.
Teambuilding
After breakfast, the team travelled to Zwolle for an interactive city game. The competition was fierce and the dedication remained high. It was further proof that Matthys Group colleagues strive for the best possible result under all circumstances…
This competitive spirit lived on during the bus ride home during a get-to-know-everyone quiz. Fun facts and surprising stories about colleagues were shared, and participants had to guess who each story belonged to. The quiz winner proved to know his colleagues best and, just like the winners of the city game, went home with a well-deserved prize.
Seven decades built together
The anniversary trip offered an opportunity not only to celebrate Matthys Group’s history, but also to strengthen the bonds between colleagues and create new memories together.
For 70 years, Matthys Group has grown through technical expertise, ambitious projects, strong partnerships and, above all, the commitment of its people. We would therefore like to thank all our current and former colleagues, customers and partners who have contributed to our story.
